Both teams got eight shots off on goal, though none were successful and halftime arrived nil-nil. In the 68th minute, Nicholas Gioacchini tapped it in off a cross from the center of the box to give St. Louis City a 1-0 lead. In the 85th minute, LA’s Douglas Costa sent a cross to Daniel Aguirre and he tapped it in from very close range to level the score. The match came to a 1-1 finish.
