Indonesia won a total of five medals at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, including one gold, one silver and three bronze.
The badminton duo Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu caused a big surprise in the women’s doubles final. The two Indonesians defeated Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan (China) in two sets 21:19 and 21:15- a special moment for the badminton-loving nation.
The weightlifters also did well, and we can look forward to Paris 2024, where Windy Cantika Aisah, who won bronze in the 49kg category, will compete again and also Eko Yuli Irawan, who won the only silver medal for his country (61kg) and will certainly want to build on his performance.
