When Niko Sheraโs family moved him from Georgia to Spain at a young age, his father instilled a love of judo in him. As he gears up for his second Olympics, heโs competing on the mat for Spain but also holding Georgia and the memory of his father in mind.
Nikoloz Sherazadishvili ๐ช๐ธ๐ฌ๐ช a judo prodigy who grew up in Georgia before immigrating to Spain with his family at the age of 13. Under the guidance of his father and former Olympian Joaquรญn “Quino” Ruiz ๐ช๐ธ, Sherazadishvili honed his skills and embraced judo as his passion. In 2018, he made history by becoming Spain’s first male judo world champion, and in 2021, he secured his second world title. Despite setbacks at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and a challenging injury, Sherazadishvili remains undeterred in his pursuit of Olympic gold at #Paris2024. ๐
