German luge legend Norbert Loch will retire and hang up his sledge at the end of this season. The 61-year-old competed for East Germany at the Olympic Winter Games Sarajevo 1984 and finished 13th.
After the Games, at the age of 21, Loch turned to coaching. Since 2008, he has led the German luge team, guiding numerous athletes, including his son, Felix Loch, a triple Winter Olympic gold medallist and six-time World Champion in the singles event.
